Hello everyone! Just wanted to mention a couple of exciting things I’m thankful for today. The first one is that today is the one year anniversary of Hummingbird & Petal! It’s been a huge learning curve to maintain this little business and one of the biggest challenges but it’s all been worth it to me. It has basically been nonstop trial and error and the lessons I’ve learned along the way hold so much value for improvement in the future. I want to emphasize how thankful I am to everyone that has encouraged me and supported me through this! Words can’t express how much it means to me and I’m excited for what the future holds for H&P. The second thing I’m so thankful for is becoming a first time mom in August! I’ll say it has been challenging in many ways to be on this pregnancy adventure (and all that comes with it 🤢) while flowering, but I can’t wait to open this new chapter of motherhood. I’ve been scrambling to prepare for our baby girl and taken a slight step back recently from designing to focus on the fast-approaching months before she arrives. I will be going on maternity leave starting August 1st through December 1st to soak in the time getting to know our baby girl and getting acquainted with this new life role of being a mother. I will still do my best to respond to any inquiries regarding orders for late December and on. P.S. I rarely post pictures of my myself simply because I usually dislike them 😬 but I feel like I should try and show my face a bit more. I also don’t hate this one since it technically features our baby girl too. 🤗🐢

Since I’ve launched my business last year, I’ve done more sympathy designs than I expected but I only hope these flowers can add even a little bit of comfort to friends and family who are celebrating the lives these people had. 💛

I had the amazing opportunity to partner with @evermorebloomsorg and design this arrangement that hopefully brightened a hurting mother’s day. Evermore Blooms is a nonprofit organization that provides flowers to women that have suffered a miscarriage. It’s not something I want to even think about going through right now. I’m glad organizations like this exist to support these women and reassure them they’re not alone during this painful time. I’m also reminded of how lucky I am to spread the comfort and beauty that flowers can bring people.
